Friday next week sees the Investec Oaks run at Epsom and I’ve been having a scan of the ante-post markets this week. While the markets on offer haven’t all started to form fully just yet it appears there was a pretty big correction in odds just earlier in the week.
I suspected and still do that some of the odds will fluctuate due to the uncertainty of the going with all the recent rain although after Marvellous ran a cracker last week in the 1,000 Guineas the price has gone into free-fall with considerable sum’s matched around the 10.0 mark early on while now trading at only 4.8!
It seems the opportunity for a big move has passed although there could still be a little room left particularly with Tagrooda drifting to 4.4 with as much as £19k matched at 3.40! Paddy Power even have Marvellous now priced us as favourite. Frustrating as it is I caught this far too late. It’ll just have to serve as a reminder to keep an eye on the various entries runners have when attempting to trade ante-post in the future.
I’m sure there will plenty more excitement in this market before it gets to Friday, especially if the typical UK weather continues to be so unpredictable!

I suppose you have been asked this before, but what size bank do you use for trading?
